This actually happened.
The Dog Police is a pilot presentation made in 1990 starring 3 dogs from outer space who can talk and walk like humans and use that power to, what else, fight crime! Yeah!

Some random observations:
- What. The. Fuck?
- You know your show/movie is awful when Adam Sandler gives the most grounded performance.
- Yet another example of Jeremy Piven having a lot less hair 20 years ago (see also: Seinfeld, PCU)
- Bowser, the (ahem) top dog of the show, looks like a mix between a werewolf and The Crypt Keeper from Tales From The Crypt. What were they thinking?
- I love the idea of dogs gaining the power of speech and using it almost exclusively to make dog puns.
- By the look of his hands at the 7:49 mark that has to be the first time Adam Sandler ever played a video game.
- The abbreviation for Los Angeles Dog Police is also the abbreviation for Los Angeles Double Penetration. Just sayin’.
- I think the way people coped with the insanity of the 80′s and the transition into the 90′s was by putting talking animals in live-action TV or Film – Howard The Duck, Alf, Dinosaurs, Look Who’s Talking Now, etc.. – and this is, by far, the worst example of that. With the best, of course, being Howard The Duck, the greatest movie George Lucas ever made.
