Last week the New York Yankees lost their long-time public address announcer Bob Sheppard and their long-time volatile owner George Steinbrenner.
While Yankee fans mourned, all I could think of was how disappointed I was that we never filmed a ‘Rejected Yankee Stadium Memory‘ featuring one of them. And that’s entirely my fault. I let myself down. How could I not work in a memory of Big George or the Voice of the Yankees? Especially since Bob Sheppard is the spitting image of the evil old man from Poltergeist 2…
That rejected memory practically writes itself!
So, in memory of Bob Sheppard, here’s a rejected memory of a simpler time…
I think this is pretty awesome because the Super Bowl and all the events surrounding it will provide New York City with the 3 things we don’t have enough of:
1- Tourists
2- Traffic
3- Terrorist targets
