Greg and Lou present Lou and Greg is a sketch and improv comedy duo consisting of Greg Burke and Lou Perez. Proud to call the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC their home, they have performed to sold out audiences across the country, most notably with their sketch shows ‘Surprise Party’ and ‘Grand Theft Art… Oh’. They have become prolific on the internet producing exclusive videos for funnyordie.com, cracked.com, justforlaughsTV and many others. And through such sketches as Office Porn, Wolverine’s Claws Suck, and Trick Shots, they have scored over 14 million views on YouTube.
Gregory Burke is a comedian and writer based in New York City. He has appeared in featured roles on NBC’s Law and Order, Third Watch and FOX’s New York Undercover and as various characters on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Greg can also be seen in DERRICK Comedy’s recent feature film “Mystery Team” which was an official selection at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and received a nationwide release later that year. Also in 2009, Greg won the Best Actor award at the New York Television Festival for his performance in “Blog of a Pool Boy”, which also won for Best Comedy Pilot. At the 2010 48 Hour Film Festival in New York City Greg won the Best Actor award for his performance in “Clark Holographics”.
In 2006 Greg co-starred in the film “Checkout”, directed by Dan Eckman, which won Best College Short at the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Other credits include six years portraying Ben Reade on CBS’ The Guiding light, various national commercials and numerous childhood exploits on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with David Letterman.
Greg is a proud founding member of the sketch/improv troupe, The Wicked Wicked Hammerkatz (2005 ECNY Winners for Best Sketch Group). He has performed in, written and/or directed dozens of shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York and is a member of the prestigious First Look Theatre Company at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Lou Perez is Luis Amate Perez, a writer/comedian based in New York City. He performs regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, was a comedy producer on TruTV’s Impractical Jokers, and produces content for stage, film, television, and the Internet with Uh-Thank You Productions.
Uh-Thank You’s independent sitcom Blog of a Pool Boy won the 2009 New York Television Festival award for Best Comedy. And in 2011 they won the NYTVF Pitch Contest. Lou received the award for Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 48 Hour Film Festival in New York City for his performance in the short film Clark Holographics. He has a B.A. from New York University (Gallatin) and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from The City College of New York, where, as an adjunct lecturer, he taught undergraduate classes in literature, composition, and creative writing.
